Terms of Use

Effective 9 August 2026

By downloading or using Goal Lock you agree to these terms. The plain-English heart of them: the app is yours to use personally, subscriptions renew until you cancel in your Apple Account settings, and the app is a self-discipline tool — not medical or psychological care, and not a guarantee you'll hit your goal.

01The agreement

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and the publisher of Goal Lock ("we," "us") for the Goal Lock iOS application and the goallock.talismandaily.com website. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app; where the two conflict, these terms govern to the extent permitted.

02License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control. The app's design, wordmark, and software are our intellectual property. You may share your own ledger cards using the app's share feature; you may not resell, scrape, or republish the app or its content.

03How the gate works

Goal Lock's gate is built on an iOS Shortcuts automation that you create during setup, combined with Apple's Screen Time frameworks. It shows your own goal text before letting a chosen app open; it does not remove the app, does not encrypt or hide it from iOS, and can always be bypassed by holding to continue — that bypass is intentional, not a bug. If you remove the Shortcuts automation on your device, the gate stops firing; that's expected, and re-arming it is covered in the app's setup guide.

04Subscriptions & free trial

05Not medical advice, no outcome guarantee

Goal Lock is a self-discipline and habit-friction tool. It is not therapy, counseling, or medical or psychological advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. We do not guarantee you will achieve any goal you set — the app removes a specific kind of friction; the work is still yours. If you are struggling, talk to someone qualified. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact emergency services or a crisis line now — in the US, call or text 988.

06Acceptable use

Don't reverse-engineer the app except where the law allows, don't use it to build a competing product, and don't misrepresent the app or its content as your own.

07Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app — including missed goals, missed deadlines, or a gate that failed to fire because its underlying Shortcuts automation was changed or removed. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

08Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or end the license if you materially breach these terms. Sections 02, 05, and 07 survive termination.

09Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. The effective date above always reflects the current version; material changes will be noted in the app's App Store release notes. Continued use after a change means acceptance.

10Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the publisher's place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the consumer-protection law of your country of residence grants you mandatory protections. Questions: support@talismandaily.com.
